Cannot find host "myserver.com": non-recoverable failure in name resolution

Hi..

Wat is the meaning of this ? i have given the follwoing URI information at my UF configuration file as below in deploymentclient.conf file

[deployment-client]

[target-broker:deploymentServer]
# Change the targetUri
targetUri = myserver.com:52400

but it is throwing the following error and my apps are not being pushed from deployment server to this forwarder client.

error i see in splunkd is ..

Rakesh,

The error says that the UF is unable to resolve the IP address for the host provided in your deploymentclient.conf. You should check the DNS resolution on the UF host to make sure that DNS resolution for the host is working correctly:

Microsoft NSLookup

Because the client cannot find the Deployment Server, it doesn't connect, and then when it tried to check for updates, it will throw the errors you have listed.

hmm..nslookup is not working in this box..will check wit admin..thank you 🙂

Hmm, sorry, not familiar with DNS on HP-UX. You should still be able to use NSLookup ("nslookup myserver.com") to check if the UF host is able to resolve the hostname. If not, you should check with the administrator of the box to see if DNS is configured on the host.
