Dashboards & Visualizations

"Stats count" in dashboard's panel does not render total number

For example if I run this query index=my-index sourcetype=my-source-type | where match(source, "my-regex-pattern") | stats count in standard ssearch tool, I get a total number of events matching the search criteria. This is what I am looking for.

When I go to dashboard => add panel => new events, and paste the same query, the display of the panel actually is list of event details, same as the result of index=my-index sourcetype=my-source-type | where match(source, "my-regex-pattern") in standard search tool.

Any idea how can I make the panel in dashboard to just display one number?

Edit the dashboard and change the panel's visualization type to Singlevalue rather than Table.

I adjusted the visualization from "Events" to "Statistics Table" or any gauges, now I see what I need.
