i would like to incorporate a search overview in one of my applications showing the sourcetypes, hosts etc like it is done in the search application but for a different index. i have had a look at the dashboard_*.xml files but i could not find a reference to the default index that i then could change to my index. Can somebody please give me a hint where to start incorporating my own index.

The search dashboard searches across all indexes that are searched by the user by default. Normally, the only default index is "main", but you can change this in the manager.
