How can I match the color of the drilldown chart to the color of the bar selected

I have a bar chart with 5 category colors.
If I select a color to drilldown I want to see the same color repeated

@mjltls ideally for the community to assist you better you should provide more details like what is the current SPL used? How does your existing source and drilldown chart look? If possible screenshot of existing dashboard. You should mock/anonymize any sensitive code or data before posting on Splunk Answers.

However, based on your question seems like you have main panel which returns 5 bars with series Color applied. When you drilldown to specific bar seems like a new chart is displayed with a different view of the same data. Easiest thing to do would be to use Splunk's default behavior of keeping same color for series with the same name across the dashboard for all charts.

Following is one such run anywhere example based on Splunk's _internal index where if you click on WARN the timechart is plotted for Warn count and same series color:
