Building for the Splunk Platform

Upgrade Splunk 5.0.4 to 6.0. Error couldn't run "/opt/splunk/bin/python": Exec formar error.

I want to upgrade my Splunk 5.0.5 to 6.0.
I copied files to directory with Splunk, but when i try to START Splunk, I have error:

couldn't run "/opt/splunk/bin/python": Exec formar error

Can anyone help me?

P.S. OS=ubuntu 12.04 x86

So, i'm not correctly unpack tgz archive.
I install deb-package and splunk now work.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct package? This sounds like you accidentally downloaded the x64 package and are trying to run x64 binaries on an x86 system.
