Splunk cloud gateway not authenticating splunk username and password during registration

Hello, I am trying out the Splunk mobile app and Splunk cloud gateway.

I set up my admin account and iPhone just fine.

When I registered another user device and put his username into it I fat-fingered his password and it was still accepted.

He could log in to Splunk mobile but had no data.

Is this a feature?

It would be nice if when you put in the user name and password it checks the authentication and validates that it works before registering the device.
