When I try to click install, it asks for credentials, then the box disappears and the search changes to "Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Cloud Services"
Does Cloud Services include all the Office 365 data and therefore I don't need the Office 365 Add-on?
Or is it just my instance behaving weird?
I am also unable to install the Microsoft Office 365 Add-On in my Splunk Cloud Instance.
I get the following error:
Add-on installation failed.
Error downloading update from https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4055/release/2.0.0/download/: Not Found
Does anyone have any suggestions? I cannot log a support case because I have a free Splunk Cloud Instance.
I did not experience issues installing the Microsoft 365 App for Splunk Add-on.
These two apps have IMHO become a bit confusing in the latest releases - there is some overlap in what they promise from the apps description, however:
https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4055/ - This app is focused around office 365 applications (exchange/sharepoint/dlp/and azure AD)
https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/3110/ - This app is focused on azure platform resources such as virtual machines, and the object store
Looking at the title of your question, are you trying to install these on Splunk Cloud? if so open a ticket and ask for assistance getting them both (if necessary) installed.
With the latest release we had some issues upgrading our on-prem deployment which meant we had to delete one of them first - something you as a Splunk Cloud user can not do.
I was trying to install on Splunk Cloud correct. It now works fine...
Hey Teeeeee, how did you resolve this?
Just in case it happens to someone else, my LastPass chrome plugin seemed to be causing the issue... not sure exactly why.
But I disabled the plugin and the installer worked...
