Server/VM Used: Linux VM ver3.4.0+ (via Bash utility running on windows 10)
I am installing a universal forwarder(Splunk Enterprise)
Step 1 (Successful): Install Splunk Enterprise using the command - tar xvzf splunkforwarder-6.5.2-67571ef4b87d-linux-2.6-x86_64 -C /opt
Step 2 (Error): Start Splunk Enterprise using ./splunk start --accept-license
The error is:
This appears to be your first time running this version of Splunk. Splunk> Like an F-18, bro. Checking prerequisites... Please help me resolve the above.
Are you opening command prompt as an administrator? Open command prompt, then right click on command prompt icon in the taskbar, then right click on "command prompt" in the dialog that opens up, and then click on "run as administrator" in the dialog that opens. Finally, go to your splunk_home/bin directory and try your commands.
