Google Maps - Customizing geo location bubble colors and numbers based on application criteria

Hi:

Is there a way to customize the geo location colors based on some application based criteria? Eg: number of requests from a geo location (lat1, lng2) during certain time ranges during a day - eg: 0-6 AM - yellow and 200 requests, 6-10 AM - green and 300 requests, and so forth on the same geo location.

Thanks.

This isn't possible. The colors seen are the marker images. The different colors (and sizes) represent different quantities of the events/results in this location. Applying colors based on criteria in your search won't work, because the locations are clustered (ie. depending on the zoom level, multiple nearby locations are "merged"). The next version of the Google Maps app will allow you to define the thresholds for the colors. Currently the hardcoded values are:

count<10=blue, count<100=yellow, count<1000=red, count<10000=pink, count>10000=purple

In the future there will be different overlay types for the maps module. Currently there is only the clustered view. I'm planning to add an overlay type that allows you to display custom markers, based on criteria in the search, but this won't be clustered. So it won't be possible to display more than ~800-1000 markers at once.
