Hello,

Could anybody let me know what user privileges are needed for starting controller as a windows service ?

Our customer has strong security policy and it must be specified before instalation.

Thanks.

Hi,

As stated in doc the user should run as administrator https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO39/Install+the+Controller+as+a+Windows+Service However if the user logged if have executable permissions on the controller directory and have enough permissions to run the windows service that should work as well, Hope that clarifies your query.

For example , make sure the appdynamics service both controller db mysql and appserver UI service have same user with executable permissions under "Log On" tab is provisioned , refer popup screenshot referred below

Arun

what do you mean by "have enough permissions to run as server."

can you be more specific ?

the customer does not allow to run service "as administrator". We need to define a separate user.
