Monitoring TIBCO EMS Server

Hi Team,

Currently I am evaluating Appdynamcs for APM of TIBCO EMS (Enterprise Message Service) Server.

I was able to found documents regarding TIBCO Active Matrix and TIBCO Business Works at

http://community.appdynamics.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Instrumenting-TIBCO-ActiveMatrix-BusinessWorks/ta...

but I could not see any document regarding TIBCO EMS.

Also I understood that App Dynamics provides an extension for TIBCO EMS (Detail:

http://community.appdynamics.com/t5/eXchange-Community-AppDynamics/TibcoEMS-Monitoring-Extension/idi...)

But from the link, I understood that extension helps in monitoring generic matrics of EMS Server and does not help for detailed deep diving in application. (Please correct me if I misunderstood)

I would like to know following details:

  1. How many products of TIBCO are supported by App Dynamics?
  2. Does App Dynamics supports TIBCO EMS Server?
  3. If yes, How to instrument App Dynamics agent to TIBCO EMS Server?
  4. How many detailed information can we get through App Dynamics? Can we get detailed call graph / response time breakdown for business transactions? Also Can we monitor Infra health?

With the hope of your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Bhavin Shah

Hi Bhavin,

Unless i am wrong TIBCO EMS runs on top of C , let us know if any disconnect. if yes , we confirm AD java agent will not help to monitor directory TIBCO EMS server which is not J2EE java based environment, However if BT from other supoorted environmetn say TIBCO BW server is making calls to TIBCO EMS than such exit calls can be monitored/discovered as queue/backend/remote service exit calls in UI, hope that answers your queries.
