Java 8 support

Hi

We've added the agent to one of our apps running on Jetty with Java 8 and it appears the jvm crashes. Is Java 8 not supported? If not, when would we see Java 8 support?

Hi,

As of now java8 is not officially supported as per docs: http://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO14S/Supported+Environments+and+Versions+for+Java#SupportedEnv...

However we see the support for java8 is expected to be part of 3.9 which is next major release.

It would be great if you provide agent logs and the crash report to see whether the issue is related to agent support for java8 or other to get clarity of the issue.

Regards,

Arun

Thanks for your reply. I have to configure it in an instance to get the crash log. Will send it over.

In the meantime, can you give us an indication on the timeline for the nexr major release that would include java 8 support?

Hi,

We see 3.9 release is expected to go GA in another 3-5 weeks (around 1 month at max) from now, hope that information helps.

Regards,

Arun
