Hi All,

We had an issue last Sunday 20/11/2016, in which one of our production application servers crashed and AppDynamics did not report it, going back to that timeframe, I couldn't find any alerts. AppDynamics detected that there was a JVM crash only when the server started. Please see the attached screenshot which sows the time frame when the issue occured, and also, please see the alert that came up after the server was started.

Please let me know if you need more details

Thanks,

Ali

Hello,
You can define an HR on this AppServer restart event or on agent
availability metrics to get notified when an agent doesn't report anymore.
As you said, the agent cannot report a crash since it's inside the JVM. Now
you can deploy the JVM crash guard feature to get more details when a crash
occurs. Please refer to doc.
