Incompatible Agent in Current Lite Download

Hi,

I'm evaluating the Lite Agent for IBM WebSphere and am seeing errors in the logs that indicate that the 3.x agent isn't compatible with the 2.x controller. I assume that is why I can't see any business transactions or MBeans; can you confirm that this is or isn't a result of version differences? If it is, then is there an updated download? Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to appsphere community forum. We understood that you are referring to error in lite agent.log as listed below:

========================
[main] 26 Aug 2013 14:18:11,669  INFO ConfigurationChannel - Controller version [0.0.0]
[main] 26 Aug 2013 14:18:11,670 ERROR ConfigurationChannel - Agent Compatiblity error! Agent version [Server Agent Lite v3.3.4.0 RC Build Date 2013-03-20 20:23]
java.lang.IllegalStateException: This agent is not compatible with the controller version.

=========================

If you see the same error we confirm that this is a known bug regarding the compatability error IllegalStateException and you can ignore the compatability error for now, also we confirm that the compatability error should not affect BT detection.

If you see a different error in lite agent logs, Can you please provide the following information to debug further:
- zipped of logs directory under <Agent_instsall_dir>/logs
- zipped version logs directory under Lite viewer which is LiteViewer.log, let us know if you are referring to controller UI or Lite viewer UI

- Can you confirm the type of business transaction you hitting on websphere server with lite agent configured ? (Is it Servlet, Spring, Struts, EJB, etc) , can you check whether the entry point is enabled under Configure -> transaction detection screen under lite viewer UI
- provide the screenshot from UI depicting the screen with no data displayed in controller UI

Do write back to us for further assistance.

Thanks,

Arun
