Bugs in controller

Hi,

There seem to be numerous bugs in the controller. Many times the page just gets stuck with the loading icon and we just have to refresh it to make it work (often more than 1 refresh). Behavior is not consistent, it occurs randomly on random pages / user actions. Example: http://screencast.com/t/2EXqg22sLmQ5 - the login screen won't even show, but you can see the errors in browser console. Similar thing can happen on any page, in Chrome, FF, IE (all latest versions).

Unrelated (probably), but "remember me" doesn't work at all.

Dejan

Hi Dejan,

We have checked in other saas and demo environments the same 404 errors for same missing files but that did not stop loading login page or other screens over multple tries as we login demo sites periodically so we confirm the 404 error URLs are not the issue for login page.

Above said is evident from below logs not for same but different saas with same error urls:

Somehow we could locate targettrade.saas.appdynamics.com from our portal (this though have same 404 error login worked fine) we could not locate targettradeqa.saas.appdynamics.com from our portal ,  Can you please create and share account/login/password details with us (create temp user for us) so that we can check login and page load behavior ourselves to assist you further?

Also regarding "remember me" feature please be sure that username will be pre-filled but  not the password field and this is known behavior , let us know if you see issue with account/user name field as well for "remember me" feature in login screen?

Regards,

Arun

Hi Arun,

As I said, the behavior is not consistent, sometimes the page loads 20 times in a row, sometimes it takes 5 refreshes to load properly. I don't know if it is connected to the 404 errors in the logs of the browser or not, but I suggest that you investigate that anyway, as it is giving a bad impression even if everything works.

"Remember me" function works as you described, but it is contrary to the standard in the industry. It should remember user's login status (not just the username) so that he doesn't have to type the password again (unless he explicitely logged out).

Here's the new user I've just created for you on targettradeqa.saas.appdynamics.com:

aruntest / aruntest

In order to see the bug, try to clear browser cache (or use private / incognito windows) and/or use proxies to slow down the traffic. I assume there's a problem with loading of scripts asynchronously on a slower connection.

Dejan

Hi Dejan,

We understood your concerns and we apologize for the discrepency you see in UI login screen we already have internal bug for 404 errors. Thanks for sharing the login details, we see the error URLs not referred when we access your saas UI as referred in below screenshots and also UI loaded fine on multiple tries without issues. We assume this is random issue and we also see such issues on loading UI earlier on slow network as you pointed out.

We agree with your concerns on remember me password but we see this is expected product behavior as of now.

Let us know if you still see the issue and let us know if you have any further concerns.

Regards,

Arun
