AppDynamics Lite is not capturing traffic which is coming through Load Balancer !!!

When we hit direct url with server name (like http://ServerName/admin.aspx), appdymics capture the traffic and shows all the data but when we hit LB URL (like http://Japp-LT/admin.aspx) then it doesnot shows any data? Why?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

Abhijeet

Hi Abhijeet,

I could see you are have issue in instrumenting application which is on Load Balancer, but it does work when we instrument the application directly from server.

Basically we suspect Lite might not have installed on Load balancer properly.

We suggest, please check Lite is installed on Load balancer and we have enough load on the application.

It problem persists kindly share the logs that could help us in isolating the issue (logs are located at C:\AppDynamics\Logs)

Please feel free to write back to us in case of any issues or further clarifications.

Thanks,
Santosh

Hi Santosh,

Thanks for prompt response.

We have not installed AppDynamics Lite on LoadBalancer and just have installed on IIS server. We have 7 servers (app + web) and one load balancer. LoadBalancer just routes traffic to different server in round robin fashion so what is the need of installing appdynamics on LoadBalancer?

Also we were runing normal load test to insure enough traffic on server.

Please let me know in case you need any more details.

Thanks and Regards,

Abhijeet

Hi Abhijeet,

Appologies for delayed response.

You are correct Lite should be installed in the servers, I believe you have installed Lite in all the 7 servers, if not, install Lite in all the 7 servers and  provided enough load. If problem persists kindly share the logs that could help us in isolating the issue (logs are located at C:\AppDynamics\Logs).

Thanks,

Santosh
