geoip lookup not returning a region for all IPs

geoip is not returning a region for all IPs. Some only have a country assigned. This has the unfortunate side effect of making it look like we have an extraordinary amount of activity in Wichita, Kansas which is where IPs get mapped that only have the country of US.

The IPs that are getting mapped to Wichita can be more correctly mapped by other IP lookup services. So I'm guessing this is caused by Geo Location Lookup Script using the GeoIPCityLite DB instead of a more accurate paid version. Is this correct? Is there anywhere to upgrade the lookup database?

Well, funnily enough, the GeoIP database is exactly what is at fault here. Following up over 2 years on, but here's an article that references exactly this: http://fusion.net/story/287592/internet-mapping-glitch-kansas-farm/

The GeoIP database cannot, by its nature, be 100% correct. IP blocks move around, and may be assigned to use which may not even be reliably geo-located. What sort of incidence are you talking about?
