Why am I getting timeout errors connecting to a Cloudera cluster from Hadoop Connect for Splunk 1.2.3?

We have a Cloudera cluster that I'm able to connect to from Hadoop Connect for Splunk, but getting timeouts.

The connection is successful from the command line terminal of our Splunk server, using the Hadoop CLI. I can get listings of Hadoop metadata using hadoop fs -ls hdfs://awetsa3uthdp03.cloud.our-company.org:8020. However, when using Hadoop Connect within Splunk, I get a timeout trying to connect:

Error connecting to /servicesNS/nobody/HadoopConnect/clusters/awetsa3uthdp03.cloud.our-company.org%3A8020: The read operation timed out

I'm using the latest version of the Splunk Hadoop Connector (1.2.3), and Splunk 6.2.

Was this resolved? If so can you share some details, also was it Kerberos secured cluster?

Can you share your core-site.xml ?
It can be found under this Splunk directory /opt/splunk/etc/apps/HadoopConnect/local/clusters/awetsa3uthdp03_8020

When you run the Hadoop command, are you using the user that installed Splunk?

I don't fins anything in the clusters folder...is it suppose to have an entry as the connection is not successful from the UI? I do have listed all the properties as an xml listed in documentation.

In my case, yes using the same user to run the hadoop command from the command line which installed splunk.
