Which email accounts will work with the IMAP Mailbox app?

Hello, please excuse my ignorance; I am new to this. I installed this app successfully, but cannot manage to get it indexing mail into Splunk. What email accounts are valid? I tried gmail, which as far as I can find out does use IMAP (and from what I have seen it looks like maybe pretty much all large email services use IMAP now). I set it up with my account (server name, user name, passsword, port), and it appeared to accept this information, but it always says it cannot find anything to index.

GMail is diffcult. You shoud check below.
1. Enable IMAP. link text
2. Setup several step link text
3. Check local/imap.conf below

Any IMAP server should work. Run a manual fetch of the email with debug enabled. See the Readme file for instructions on how to do that. Then you can see what issue you are running into.
