What's the relation between the "Verizon DBIR app for Splunk" and Verizon, Inc.?

Offhand, the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) app for Splunk doesn't seem to have any truck with Verizon, Inc. So why the name prefix?

Hi @DUThibault, I poked around and found a few resources to show the partnership between Splunk and Verizon:

Verizon Enterprise Solutions worked w/ Splunk to offer this product in Splunkbase. The app is in beta and Verizon is actively updating and enhancing the tool, and will continue to publish updated version with increased functionality and usability features.

It's a little confusing because most entries in Splunkbase that have a company name in their title require that the company's product (software, virtual or physical appliance, Web service, etc.) be in use to be useful. If I understand you correctly, in this case Verizon is merely the sponsor, and there are no Verizon-related requirements for the use of the DBIR app?
