What are the requirements for the CST app when running on a SH without DMC?

Hi,

we are planning to use this app in version 2.5.9 in our SH-Cluster. Unfortunately, there are some requirements, that are not documentend in the description. It seems, the app only works correctly, if on the SH there is also a DMC running as it wants to use the assets.csv of the monitoring console per default. We already tested to provide an assets.csv in the app itsself and it seems to work. So that is not a real issue for us.

But since the application permissions seem to import dmc and other "stuff" like

import = splunk_monitoring_console, splunk_management_console, search

we would like to ask you:

Is there anything else except the assets.csv that we have to provide for the app to run smoothly on a SH Cluster? Do we e.g. need to provide any macros that are usually only available on the DMC?

Best wishes
Ron

The search "sta_forwarder_inventory" stoppped with state "error" throwing the following error after it ran for over 20 hours (yes, we have like 20.000 UniversForwarders):

04-01-2019 14:37:33.690 WARN ApplicationManager - Cannot import non-existent application: splunk_management_console

So the main question remains: what are the requirements for the app to run on SH Cluster in an distributed environment where there is no DMC on the SH. We - I guess like most enterprise customers - run a dedicated DMC.

Best wishes
Ron
