The configuration of Apps in Mobile Access Server only allows to enable dashboards and not reports, then why are all reports available within the app if we cannot select which report to be available.

The main reason why we allow administrators to enable/disable certain dashboards is to have them to confirm which dashboards can be properly shown in our mobile app. But all reports can be well rendered on mobile.

Be more specific, dashboards can be built with different technologies, with Advanced XML, Simple XML, HTML Dashboard or even Python Django. SimpleXML is the strategic visualization technology we, as a company, to use and prompt. The mobile app only supports SimpleXML-based dashboards. But if users may use customized JavaScript to extend the SimpleXML dashboards, such as using non-standard charts or javascript libraries with lazy loading. As we stated in known issue, MOBILE-774, we cannot guarantee all customized SimpleXML JavaScript extension will work well on mobile app. Some of the JavaScript code assume they are running in splunk web and try to load other resources via splunkweb-specific URL pattern, which is not available in mobile environment.

Putting in short, some highly-cusotmized SimpleXML dashboards cannot be rendered properly on mobile app. We expect customer admin can disable them in the web console. To deliver the similar information and summary, they can develop a mobile-friendly dashboard with regular SimpleXML charts&inputs, and make it visible for mobile app.

Regarding Splunk Reports (a.k.a. saved searches), end users cannot add any customized JavaScript to it. So technically all reports can be shown on mobile. That’s why currently we don’t need admin to enable/disable reports. All of them are shown on mobile.
Finally, back to your concern(or requirement), as a user what would you liked to see, development is considering following options and we are tracking this enhancement in MOBILE-967.
