Hello world,

I'm running Splunk 6.4.0 build f2c836328108 and I'm trying to install Splunk DB Connect v.3.1.3. When i'm configuring the inputs, i get results from the query but it doesn't index the data to splunk. This are the things that i have done:

  • I went to the "splunk_app_db_connect_server.log", check for errors and found this one:

    2019-04-17 07:54:10.403 -0400  [QuartzScheduler_Worker-31] ERROR c.s.d.s.task.listeners.RecordWriterMetricsListener - action=unable_to_write_batch

Then i went to the DB Connect troubleshooter (https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/3.1.3/DeployDBX/Troubleshooting#Debug_HTTP_Event_Collector...) and did what it says there. When i changed the port, I got another error:

I solved it!

The token was missing from the $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/splunk_app_db_connect/local/inputs.conf file.
I added the following lines and restarted splunk:

[http://[My_Input_Name]]
disabled = 0
token = [My_Token_Number]

The docs. (https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/3.1.4/DeployDBX/inputsspec) say it should be in the db_inputs.conf file but it wasn't there either.

Hi Marrera,

Please help me how to get the token Number?

Go to settings > Data Inputs > HTTP Event Collector. There should be one created for db connect, if not, there is where you can create it.
