Hello splunkers,
We're using Splunk in a DMZ with the mobile access add-on. We've set up an API manager in front to make Splunk accessible via the internet, but when the API manager routes to the login page (https://splunk:8000/de-DE/account/login), there is always a redirect to another endpoint. Is it possible to "make" the URL static? Is there a static endpoint for login? I did not find any hints in the documentation about this.
Best Regards,
Tarek
Hi Tarek:
Could you please tell me how do you login to Splunk in your question? By the Splunk Mobile App or by the browser?
From your description, it looks like that you can't login to splunk through the API manager even by the browser due to the redirect issue. Or you can login to splunk by browser, but can not login by the Splunk Moble App?
Thanks.
Roy Ma
Hi Tarek,
Sorry to hear this is causing a headache. When they log in from the app, are the end users entering the full address as you've noted, complete with port and path? See step 3 on http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/MobileApp/2.1.0/Install/Login
To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a static endpoint for login but I plan to investigate further. Any other details you can share?
Best, Janet
Hi Janet,
thank you for your answer. The end users have to login to a custom URL provided by our API manager. Then, the API manager routes to the right URL (https://splunk:8000/de-DE/account/login). I've tested all possiblities, with port, without port, IP address and so on. That is exact the problem. The response from the API manager to the end user (APP) is always a http 302 redirect and not the "real" endpoint.
Hm. Asking the question locally.
