I have created a splunk app and uploaded it on splunkbase. We can install this app on Splunk Enterprise. But on trying to install it on splunk cloud from Apps -> Browse more apps -> , it displays this message:
This app is not yet certified for Splunk Cloud. Please file a support case to request this app.
How can I get this certification? Is this certification available for free?
Also is there a way to manually install an app downloaded directly from Splunkbase?
Hey @rakes568! Stealing the words of @esix_splunk:
For custom apps, you need to open support ticket to have them install and perform any server side configurations. You should have all the required contacts in your contract and support documentation to do this.
This is not a custom app. Our app is already present in splunkbase. I just want to install it on my splunk cloud.
Some installation and upgrade tasks require help from Splunk Support. Contact Splunk Support for the following tasks:
**Install an app that is not available for self-service installation.**
Install an app that is not available from Splunkbase.
Install an app that has dependencies that Splunk Support previously installed for you.
Configure Splunk Cloud for premium apps (Enterprise Security, VMware, Mint, PCI, and so on).
It might simply not be available for self-service installation. I pulled that from the Docs https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/SplunkCloud/6.6.1/User/SelfServiceAppInstall and chatted with someone on the team earlier before posting who said that was the best route.
