It looks like there is an empty SplunkforPaloAltoNetworks.tgz within the bundled application at the following path:

palo-alto-networks-app-for-splunk_531.tgz\palo-alto-networks-app-for-splunk_531.tar\SplunkforPaloAltoNetworks\SplunkforPaloAltoNetworks.tgz - 2016-11-03 09:15 0rw-r--r-- paul staff

This looks like it might be a bad artifact from the build process.

No that shouldn't be there. You are correct though it is a bad artifact form the build process. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
