My client was using Citrix XenDesktop version 7 and would like to know the statistics about endpoint devices that connected to XenDesktop.
Currently we cannot find the data about endpoint device type. We found only endpoint device name.
Is there anyway to obtain device type from XenDesktop?
Thank you,
Oat
We only collect what the PowerShell script writes out. For XenDesktop 7.0, 7.1, and 7.5, the Client Platform is not written out from the PowerShell cmdlet (Get-BrokerSession). See the available output from Get-BrokerSession here -> http://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xenapp-and-xendesktop/7/cds-reference-wrapper-rho/cds-sdk-wrapper-rho/c...
In XenDesktop 7.6, the ClientPlatform property was added (http://docs.citrix.com/en-us/xenapp-and-xendesktop/7-6/cds-sdk-wrapper-rho/xad-commands/citrix-broke...) which is what you are asking for.
You could also use the freeware tool from http://www.ctrl-alt-del.com.au/CAD_TSUtils.htm called CTXCliOS to get the OS of the client running the session and send the output to the indexer. That should get you what you want as well.
Thank you very much.
I'll try it.
