Is Splunk DB Connect 2 supported with search head pooling?

I am curious what the situation with running DB Connect 2 in a pooled search head environment is. I see explicit mention of SH clustering in the docs, but nothing about pooling. That is, I don't see that it says is either is or is not supported with DB Connect 2. I need to know if I should "close the door" on the idea of setting up DB Connect 2 on our pooled search heads or not -- until we can get to clustering.

(We're working on moving to clustering, but it's taking considerably long than we'd have hoped...)

As an aside... while I realize that pooling is in a deprecated state, my understanding of that term as it applies to IT is that "it's discouraged and will go away eventually but it's fully supported until we say it's not". It's kind of feeling like Splunk has already partially gotten rid of SH pooling in some products while still halfway supporting it :-.

Thanks.

Per http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/2.0.4/DeployDBX/Architectureandperformanceconsiderations SH Clustering is supported. If using an RPC server as suggested, DBConnect 2 SHOULD work in theory.

But still no explicit mention of whether SH pooling is supported.

Another point of comparison is that while DB Connect version 1 has a provided script that will do some needed processing in a search head pooled environment (bin/dbx_shpinst.py), it does not appear that there is any such script, either by the same name or similar functionality with version 2. I guess that's another indicator that it implicitly has not support for search head pooling.

You are correct. I removed my comment re: SHC and DBXv1 not working together. Thanks!
