I am trying to connect DB Connect 2 to Oracle 11.04. Is there an Oracle ojdbc8.jar to work with java 1.8?

I am trying to connect Oracle 11.2.0.3 to DB Connect 2. I am running java 1.8. I have loaded ojdbc6.jar in both $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/splunk_app_db_connect/bin/lib>

and
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0/jre/

I get the following message:

The driver class oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver is not found, please check if the driver library is installed properly.

Is this a driver issue? Do I need ojdbc8.jar to run with Java 1.8? The latest jar file I have been able to find at Oracle is ojdbc6.jar. Is there an Oracle driver that works with DB Connect 2 since it runs java 1.8? Any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We certify and support ojdbc6.jar with Java 1.8. I suspect there is something else going on, perhaps related to permissions. You might be best off opening a support case.
