How to troubleshoot why I am getting no data in the App for Twitter Data?

I think I have it all set up correctly, at least no errors when inputting the API and secrets. Is this because I am on 6.3.3? Does anyone have more detailed instructions on how to set up the REST API instead and then get the data into the app?

Thanks

Hello,

Take a look at this: http://blogs.splunk.com/2014/07/03/splunking-social-media-tracking-tweets/

It has detailed info on how to establish a RESTful input. I collect data from twitter on 6.3.3 and have no issues from splunk.Granted, twitter kicks your connection every now and then (Mine is a streaming API call).

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Raghav

Among other similar posts, I followed that to no avail. I'm a little more hopeful since you're on 6.3.3 as well but WTH?!?

hehe, so I was working with my SE today and we figured out why we were getting no data using the above method...the hashtag and person I was looking at had little to no traffic. We changed to #election2016 and it blew up.

So the above method DOES work
