Can we use cron-expressions for "interval" field in an input (Splunk Add-on Builder)?

I want to create an input where user will provide a value for the interval field in cron expression/value. But the interval field currently accept values in seconds. Can someone provide a solution for this ?

Only Scripted & Powershell Input has option to use Cron expression as interval.
