Can i change the default index of splunk app for aws?

I have downloaded and installed "Splunk App for AWS". The app is working correctly, but is using the "Main" index. Our shop generally restricts the use of the index "main" to ensure that all data is thoughtfully ingested. With this in mind, how can I update the app to use a different index such as "aws"?

The Splunk App for AWS is actually comprised of two components: the app and the TA (technology add-on). This setting can be changed in the TA. You switch to it by clocking the down arrow where it says "App: Splunk App for AWS".

Hi Jordan. You can configure a custom index of your choice for the S3 input via the app, but any other inputs for which you require custom indexes will need to be configured through the add-on at this time. The add-on offers several additional configuration parameters for each input.

Here are the docs: http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/AddOns/latest/AWS/ConfigureInputs
