Alert Manager: Why am I getting setup error "Default index "alerts" doesn't exist. Did you install and configure TA-alert_manager correctly"?

I'm trying to install the app "Alert Manager".
However, in the installation setup appears this error.

"Default index "alerts" doesn't exists. Did you install and configure **TA-alert_manager* correctly?"*

The TA-alert_manager is a link that redirects to the same page.

Can someone help me?

I don't see TA-alert_manager in splunkbase. Can you just create an index called "alerts"?

BTW, documentation for Alert_Manager appears to be at http://docs.alertmanager.info/Documentation/AlertManager/latest/AlertManager/AbouttheAlertManager.
