Add-on Builder: How can I debug or log something within the editor while developing a Python script?

Hi,

I am experimenting with the Splunk Add-on Builder and want to develop my own Python script within in. However, I don't see how I can debug or even log something within the editor.

So, when I am using "helper.log_error", where can I see that during development?

Thanks

Currently, you can not see the logs from the UI. The UI shows the events which will be put into splunk index.

You can check the file log file for your modular input. The file path is
$SPLUNK_HOME/var/log/splunk/_.log

So doing something like this in the code....
helper.log_info("Alert action started.")
You would not be able to find in a Splunk search?
