How to make texts bold in email alerts?

I am trying to make certain texts as bold in Splunk email alerts and choosing the HTML/Plain Text option, but the HTML tags appear as it is in the emails which get generated

As far as I can see in the source of the sendmail.py - not with the default Send Email action. It includes rendering a text block into a HTML content using mako template which contains

${msg|h}

element which simply means "HTML-escape everything". So anthing that you put into the Message field, will get encoded and displayed as you typed it in.
