Where do I start

Hi Friends,
I am 1 day old with Splunk. So probably this is the most stupidest post ever made. Still, can somebody guide me where can I some free/dummy log files for practice and some guidance to keep going. Some help is much appreciated. Thanks.

It should have those sample logs that you wanted as well.

Well I am learning it for the first time that too all by myself. I was playing with the tool the whole day, but made very little progress. So ultimately though to seek help from the forum itself.

In addition [probably best after] the tutorial you will find the Splunk Book and its accompanying exercises [and yes, sample data] very useful. It's a free download from http://www.splunk.com/goto/book
