      <description>&lt;P&gt;Splunk currently ships with Python 2.6.4, as will Splunk 4.2.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Per the other thread that you linked to, you are best off importing and maintaining external python libraries via a separate instance of python.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
