    <description>&lt;P&gt;I don't think this option is available in Simple xml but I guess you can achieve this using Splunk Web Framework. There seems to be an option in the text box there to enter password (each typed character replace by asterisk &lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I would like to create a text search so a user can look for his or her own stats. There will be a drop-down with the user names. I want to add a text box so they can enter a password but, I don't want the password to be seen.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
