How to Schedule a PDF Delivery in Splunk ? The option is greyed out.

Hi.

I have a Splunk dashboard, and there is a requirement to send the dashboard as a pdf report everyday. I can see the "Schedule PDF Delivery" option, but it is currently greyed out.

I have searched online and also on Splunk forums, but couldn't get an exact answer on how to schedule a PDF delivery if the option is greyed out.

All of the panels in my dashboard don't depend on any user input ( user input = Any information that we need to pass to get the panels )

The panels depend on the Splunk queries, which would search for an index, then a namespace and then for few columns and usual calculation (involving stats, eval, timechart etc.)

Can someone please help me with the Scheduled PDF Delivery ?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are using splunk 8.2 you could try to convert this dashboard to use Dashboard studio which has much better options to schedule pdfs.
Usually this option is grey if there is some elements which are not supported by schedule pdf. Can you share you dashboard, so we can easier figure out what those could be?
Can you create on simple dashboard e.g. single graph with predefined values and see if you can schedule it or is there some restrictions set by admins?

Hi @isoutamo , do you have the capability "list_settings", which is required for being able to schedule PDF export?

I have used admin role on those system, so I have had this capability in my account. Based on documentation other roles than admin needs this capability added to their own role.

Hi @rahul_n,

Scheduled PDF delivery is greyed out if there is an input (even with default values set). You must remove all inputs (including time). After that, you will be able to schedule pdf delivery.
