Great question you handsome friend you!

Check the tag validated_best-practice. That's where Splunk's official Product Best Practices team, in conjunction with subject matter experts, is publishing all of it's material.

See How Crowdsourcing is Shaping the Future of Splunk Best Practices for details.

Use the platform's multi-tag search feature to curate the results further. To do so, run a search for questions (upper right in the answer.splunk.com UI) for something common, like "splunk". On the resulting page, check out the "Refine Your Search" menu on the upper body of the resulting page. That's where you can use the "With tags" input to enter multiple tags such as
validated_best-practice
and
itsi
. Here's the resulting page for the example you provided: search results for itsi and validated_best-practice.

Is there a good way to find validated best practices, ones that are expected to be current, tied to a specific feature?

When searching answers.splunk.com I often find information that was accurate at the time, but isn't current.

And, some times I have a vague question about an approach but don't know exactly how to ask.

Knowing "Hey, there's a list of best practices for IT Service Intelligence - here's how you find them", that kind of thing.
