&lt;P&gt;We are using html views to run slpunk queries.. Is there any way to make the search run in fast mode in views for improving the performance of the search??&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Your search probably already runs in smart/fast mode, but it's hard to tell which without knowing how you constructed your HTML dashboards, what your searches look like and whether they are inline or saved searches.&lt;BR /&gt;
Maybe &lt;A href="http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Search/Changethesearchmode" target="_blank"&gt;this&lt;/A&gt; provides you with more details.&lt;BR /&gt;
For ad-hoc searches you can figure out what mode your searches run in by looking at the search job's &lt;STRONG&gt;request&lt;/STRONG&gt; object. It contains an element called &lt;STRONG&gt;adhoc_search_level&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
