In DBConnect, you can edit that Java path through the configuration settings : http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/1.1.7/DeployDBX/Installtheconnector#Advanced_Setup_Options

Additionally, you wont be able to connect to SQL databases from Splunk Cloud (unless its hosted on the same box.) So you will need have a local instance with direct access to you MS Sql server.

I am new to Splunk and I would like to learn splunk.

I have logged into splunk sandbox cloud and I try to configure the data source from Microsoft SQL server with Splunk DB Connect V1 but I couldn't connect. May be because of Java Home path. I couldn’t understand how to set the path.

Could you please help on this?

The path of java in my machine is: C:\Program Files\Java

Folders are: jdk1.7.0_79 and jre7

How do i mention path of Java Home in DB connect V1?

Image URL: http://s5.postimg.org/d2zp8f1jr/Splunk_DB_Connect.png
