So far I know there is no direct way to link dashboard. I think first you guys should decide how to deploy splunk. if it s deployed on server, that listens all the data you guys are working, you could go for authentication and couple of dashboards. if data is not central and the users are in different locations you can create an application.

Link Directly to Dashboard (permalink)?

We have a daily distro that we'd like to send out across the company. We would like it to include a raw CSV, some dashboard PDFs and links directly to the dashboard. I don't see any way we can consolidate multiple dashboard PDFs into a single email or edit the content of the emails that send the dashboard PDFs. (If this is incorrect, let me know!). I think we have figured out an alternative solution for this piece though.

What I can't figure out is how to link to the dashboards directly. Is there a way to do this? We'd like to simplify access to these dashboards and minimize(eliminate) training as much as possible (I recognize users would still have to login) while allowing everyone to get access to the dashboards.

You can create your dashboard(s) using Reports (=saved searches) instead of inline searches. The reports can then be scheduled and embedded using a permlink (requires PowerUser).
See http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.3.0beta/Report/Embedscheduledreports
