Why are some existing dashboards not displayed in the Choose Home Dashboard list for all users?

Hi,

In our application, we see that for few users, not all the dashboards available in our applications are listed in the drop-down list of "Choose Home Dashboard" dialog box available in the Splunk landing page.

Can you please let me know how Splunk populates this list and how can we have all the dashboards of our apps listed for all the users?

We use Splunk 6.3.3 and have users with different roles.

Hi amoldesai,
I don't know the logic in the showed list, every way to set a dashboard as Splunk Home, you can do it starting from the dashboard, clicking the button on the high right side with three dots (Splunk 6.5.x).

Thanks for your reply. But this does not answer my question. We are using Splunk 6.3.3. I need to know on how the dashboard list gets populated and how we can have all the dashboards listed.

The dashboards available to set as the home dashboard should be any dashboard the user has access to, I believe. If the dashboard is available only on a certain app, or only to a certain user, it won't be available globally.

The dashboards which are not listed in the dropdown, are they all simple xml dashboards?
