    <description>&lt;P&gt;The speed of I/O is the primary concern, encrypting will add delay and reduce IOPs. &lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;As long as IOPs are still in the acceptable range for your  splunk instance, you should be fine. &lt;/P&gt;</description>
