&lt;P&gt;this sounds more like a Windows auditing question rather then a splunk question.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;if any of your Windows Servers tracks password changes (audit enabled) and you are indexing its event logs, you will get this event.&lt;/P&gt;
