unable to open slunk URL

Hi,

I have installed splunk on my laptop, but unable to access the URL - http://:8000/
It gives me an error 'The page cannot be displayed' with below detiails:
Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)

Can some one please help me, what need to be done here?

Hi kumbharepramod,

this is a problem of your internet connection setup, probably you're using a proxy therefore the Proxy Error.
Try using the URL http://localhost:8000 instead.

use all the known troubleshooting techniques like:
is the server up and running?
is my PC up and running?
is the Splunkd and splunkweb up and running?
is there any firewall blocking my requests?
is there anything else I'm doing wrong?
check all Splunk log file in $SPLUNK_HOME/var/log/splunk/ for any errors.....
