    <description>&lt;P&gt;If you are installing on Linux and using a non-root user it can fail because /opt is owned by root.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Try using sudo or the root user, or create a /opt/splunk subdirectory and chown it to splunk:splunk.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
