How do I install Splunk Light license through the CLI?

I have a license for Splunk Light, and the XML file for it, but I want this to be installed on the build of the server (we have one AWS instance that can be rebuilt for various reasons) - how do I make the install script license?

I've tried the "add license" command from the docs, but this seems to only apply to Splunk Enterprise 😞

this is from Splunk enterprise, but i think this will work for Splunk light as well -

Managing licenses
To add a new license to the license stack, specify the path to the license file:

./splunk add licenses /opt/splunk/etc/licenses/enterprise/enterprise.lic

To list all the licenses in a license stack:

./splunk list licenses
