<title>topic Migrate entire index to new index with different name in Installation</title>
    <link>https://community.splunk.com/t5/Installation/Migrate-entire-index-to-new-index-with-different-name/m-p/108328#M1895</link>
<description>&lt;P&gt;So we're trying to migrate all of the data in the default 'main' index into a new index with a different name. I am fine with taking all of the data that is in that index. Can i just copy the raw files to a new path and create a new indexes.conf file? or do i have to go the import export route?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
